Coinbase
Coinbase is a crypto exchange that founded in 2012. It has been one of the largest and most well known exchanges for most of its history.
Coinbase has received a lot of flak over the years for crashing during periods of high trading volume. High trading volume are generally the best times for a trader to either take or close a position, so the exchange crashing during those periods can be really costly.
Coinbase is one of the few major exchanges to not be hacked, or have some major scandal like a CEO who potentially faked his death and took $200M worth of crypto to his grave (see Quadriga). This is because they store the majority of their crypto on cold wallets and have secure methods of storing the access codes. All crypto kept online is insured up to $250,000 per customer.
Coinbase's platform is good for simple chart reading, and buying and selling operations, but it is not very sophisticated.
